What is Plati Dip?

 - Plati Dip is a rubber based removable coating. It is very user friendly, completely removable and inexpensive. With Plasti Dip you can have your car customised or recoloured without the need for a full £3000 re-spray.

 

How long does plati dip last?

 - Plasti dip is very durable and will not lose it's bond for up to 3 years if applied correctly. After 3 years, or during the three years if desired, a new refresher coat can be easily applied.

 

How/Can I wash the dipped areas of my car?

 - Dipped items/cars can be easily hand washed with regular car wash soap. Once the Plasti Dip has fully cured (2 - 4 weeks) it can be washed with a medium power pressure washer.

 

How do you remove plasti dip?

 - Plasti Dip can be removed by peeling it off. It will peel off even after a long period of time - however after extreme lengths of time (8-12 months), it may dry out a bit and come off in smaller pieces.

 

Will it hold up to the elements (sun, winter)?

 - Plasti Dip is extremely resistant to the elements, including sun exposure, winter ice, cold, salt and rain. Fluorescent and Blaze colours will fade with prolonged exposure to the sun due to the pigments in these products. A lot of customers use plati dip to protect the cars original paintwork.

 

Will it hold up to heat and racing?

 - Plasti Dip is heat resistant up to 200 degrees F (93.3 Degrees C).  Dipped wheels have a great record holding up to the heat and abuse from racing or rally events.

 

How does Plasti Dip hold up to petrol?

 - Plasti Dip is a solvent based coating and does not hold up to petrol!  Please be careful when filling your tank or working with petrol around a dipped surface.

 

Could Plasti Dip damage my clear coat?

 - Plati dip should not damage the clear coat, however we cannot gurantee this for all cars as every paint shop will use different types and amounts of clear coat - and plasti dip can't possibly guarantee the exact same result on every unique paint job.
